Eurocopter celebrated its 60th anniversary of the Donauwörth site with a family's day on September 16th, 2006. Whereas wagons and aircraft have been built in earlier times at Donauwörth, the site is today the centre of the German helicopter industry. The main attraction were the construction line of the NH 90 and Tiger helicopters, as well as the interesting sights of the maintenance of other military types currently in service within the German Army and Navy: Sea King, Sea Lynx and CH-53.

Wings over Houston Airshow

(Reading time: 4 - 8 minutes)

Wings over Houston 2017 was an awesome airshow! Plenty of warbirds, a Messerschmitt Me 262, jets from the Vietnam era, amongst them the venerable F-4D Phantom II, made up for a great program. This great mix on show at Ellington Airport in the South of Houston was enriched by aerobatic acts and the USAF Thunderbirds. With a 34-year long history the airshow is still very much alive and kicking!

Not that much of a well known destination for aircraft enthusiasts as many of the other fast jet bases around Japan Hamamatsu hosts the T-4 training wings as well as the Airborne Warning & Control squadron equipped with 4 Boeing E-767.

O-1E Bird Dog

Flying low over the jungle on tree top level the exploits of the Cessna O-1E Bird Dog in South East Asia are legendary. Nevertheless some of the Bird Dog’s relive a renaissance today, as they are a cheap and affordable warbird, and a joy to fly!
