Schimon Peres and Ehud Barak singing the National AnthemCH-53 rescue demoHereafter the F-15I Ra'am did lighten the sky during its solo display routine with the nearly continuous use of the afterburner and the merely never ending use of flares. The presentation finally finished precisely with the splitting up of the Tzukit display team above the Israeli flag at the last tone of the national anthem.

Verdict: Though the event is aimed at the graduation of the young IDF/AF pilots and the access thus very restricted, your author is very grateful to the IDF spokesman for this rare possibility to capture these aircraft in the sky, and it was also a unique experience to feel the pride and standing of this air arm when looking at the spectator's reactions during the demonstrations.

!!! The graduation ceremony is no real airshow and without public access. It is only accessible via prior arrangements !!!

Surrounded by mountains that partly rise up vertically for several hundred meters it is challenging flying terrain, but provides plenty of photo opportunities. Meiringen is the home of the Swiss Air Force's Fliegerstaffel 11 "Tigers", one of Switzerland three F/A-18 Hornet Squadrons, and is also home to the militia Squadron 8 "Destructors" ("Vandalos"), flying the F-5E Tiger II.

The Hispano Aviacion HA-200 "Saeta" ("Arrow") is one of the last designs fully developed by Willy Messerschmitt. It had its first flight on August, 12th 1955 in Sevilla.
50 years later I have been invited to do an air-air photo session with the only remaining airworthy HA-200 in Germany. It is part of the impressive collection of the "Messerschmitt Stiftung" and operated by EADS from their site in Manching.
