Where? Seoul, South Korea
When? 18-23/10/2011

The ADEX (Aerospace and Defence Exhibition) takes place at the Sinchonri (K-16) Air Base East of Seoul and serves mainly as a showcase for the local defence industry. It is one of the few chances to see Republic of Korea Air Force (RoKAF) jets in the air and take a closer look at them on the ground.

On the first day the official opening ceremony with high-ranking military ranks and officials takes place and is highlighted by a big formation fly-by of several RoKAF aircraft.

Starting with a CN-235 and six KT-1 trainer aircraft a similar composition of a C-130 Hercules with six KA-1 light attack aircraft followed. The parade was concluded with 5-ship formations of fast jets: F-15K Slam Eagle, (K)F-5 Tiger II and (K)F-16 Fighting Falcon flew by, the latter two trailing a huge veil of blue, red and yellow, thus representing the Korean-style "Sam-Taegeuk", which stands for the relation between heaven, earth and humanity.

Frontline aircraft were represented by solo displays of a KF-16D Fighting Falcon as well as the F-15K Slam Eagle. Though not as dynamic compared to some other jet displays, both jets gave some nice opportunities to get decent photos during their routine which did deserve many thanks due to their rareness.

Wings over Houston Airshow

Wings Over Houston 2017
Where? Ellington Airfield, Houston, Texas, USA
When? 20-22 October 2017

Wings over Houston 2017 was an awesome airshow! Plenty of warbirds, a Messerschmitt Me 262, jets from the Vietnam era, amongst them the venerable F-4D Phantom II, made up for a great program. This great mix on show at Ellington Airport in the South of Houston was enriched by aerobatic acts and the USAF Thunderbirds. With a 34-year long history the airshow is still very much alive and kicking!

When?25/10/2015

PHANTOM PHESTIVAL! - The Hyakuri airshow 2015 , or „žAir Festa“€œ if using the Japanese term, was celebrated on October, 25th. On the same day the JASDF also decided to hold airshows at the Gifu flight test centre and furthermore at Tsuiki on the Southern island of Kyushu. For the Japanese aviation photographers this meant traveling a lot, trying to catch if possible the display training at least once at each airfield and finally deciding on one airfield for the showday. The decision was not easy, but fortunately the weather on Sunday was great at every of these three airfields.

Cessna O 1 Bird Dog
Where? Hahnweide, Germany
When? September 2016

Flying low over the jungle on tree top level the exploits of the Cessna O-1E Bird Dog in South East Asia are legendary. However, this venerable warbird is maybe one of the lesser known and unglamorous aircraft types flown during the Vietnam War, being manned by USAF and South Vietnamese pilots. Nevertheless some of the Bird Dog’s relive a renaissance today, as they are a cheap and affordable warbird, and a joy to fly!
