Page 3 of 6 But it is not only big jets in Manching, as the EADS also hosts their "Heritage Flight" in a nearby hangar. These old WW II aircraft attracted a lot of people that wanted to see a Messerschmitt 109 or 262 fly. Unfortunately the 262 is not in a flyable condition at the moment, but a Bf 108, Me 109, Me 163 (glider replica) were flying and added a nice touch to the rest of the flying display. The company "Flugwerk", famous for their Fw 190 rebuild, is also based at Manching and wanted to fly their FW 190. Two days before the show they noticed however that the brakes of their aircraft were not working properly and therefore cancelled the flight display due to security reasons. But their T-6 and Fouga Magister were some nice additions in the air as well, as they also carry Luftwaffe colours and markings.
