My name is Andreas, I am 29 years old and I am living in southern Germany / Bavaria. I am attracted by aviation for more than 12 years now and my hobby became my profession as I am also working in the aviation industry.

Me and photography

I have been taking air show photos for many years now and I am really pleased to share them with you via this homepage. I have started all this some years ago, but the actual domain flying-wings.com is online since 2000.
The idea of this site is to inform you about air shows and to present a selection of the best photos I have taken during this occasions. If you are planning to go to a show that has already been mentioned here you can have a look at what has been going on the last time and get some ideas on what to expect.
To choose the shows I have also an air show calender on this site, which is far from being complete, but presents most of the major shows in Europe.

My equipment

To take my photos I am using a Canon EOS30 and recently a 1DII & 5D as well, a 10D was mostly used for the photos taken util mid-2004. To capture the images presented on this site I also carry a lot pf heavy glass around with me, but for the static display mainly a Canon standard zoom at 24-105mm is used. In-flight photos are taken with a Canon 100-400mm IS f4.5-5.6 and a Canon 500mm f4 lens, sometimes combined with a 1,4x-converter. Other photos, like my night shots, require lenses in the f2.8 range, which are also in my stock.
