Where? Flugplatz Freiburg

Nicely located at the River Rhine and between the Black Forest and near to the border of France the airport of Freiburg celebrated its 100th anniversary this year. The main attraction for the enthusiast that travelled long distances to attend this event was for sure the collection of warbirds that undergo maintenance or restoration in the hangar of MeierMotors.

RIAT… Fairford... THE military air show well known among air show enthusiasts. No wonder as it is the biggest event worldwide of this kind. Due to the commercialisation of the show and the high fees that will await you there during one week-end only I have resisted to go there for a long time. But this year I finally decided to attend the biggest (and best?) military air show on the globe to get my own opinion, and experience the flair of being there.

Where? Paris - Le Bourget

The Salon du Bourget - or in English "Paris Air Show" - is the world's biggest aeronautical trade fair. Well known for the large variety of displayed aircraft and traffic jams all around the area the 47th edition in 2007 made no exception. Where? Tsuiki - Japan

Another big event and one reason for our trip: the Farewell Show of the Mitsubishi F-1 at Tsuiki.
Unfortunately the rain did continue dropping on the roof when we woke up in our cold room on the rice mattress. Though it was still 5am we got up quite quick and left the hostel half an hour later. Getting up that early turned out to be a good decision as the parking was already well occupied at 6.30 despite all the rain still pouring down.
